Sally Kalaveras has been in the real estate industry for over thirty
years and knows how important it is for clients to choose their real
estate agent. Buying a house can be an exciting thing for the whole
family, but going with the wrong agent can be a nightmare. Here are a
few tips you can use in choosing the right real estate agent when you
are looking to buy a house.
Feedback from Other Clients
When
you speak to a real estate agent, you might want to ask for a list of
previous clients he or she has dealt with in the recent past. Most
agents will gladly give you a list of clients they have worked with. If
an agent is not willing to do this, you might want to look for another
one. Check with past clients to see how their buying or selling
experience was with the real estate agent. With past clients, you might
also want to check what was the asking price and the selling price, as
well as how long the house was on the market. You could call a couple of
past clients and speak with them before deciding to go with a real
estate agent.
Licensing
Check if the real estate
agent is licensed. Each state has different regulatory bodies, so check
with your state’s regulatory body to find out if the agent is licensed
and if there have been any complaints or disciplinary actions against
them.
Credentials
Just as you wouldn’t go to a doctor
who doesn’t have the right credentials, it is important to check if
your real estate agent has the right credentials. Sally Kalaveras has
been a licensed real estate agent since 1981.
